Offshore facilities cannot risk penetration to critical systems such as the bridge navigation system (ECDIS) or the positioning system in a floating rig DP (Dynamic Positioning) just because a nearby vessel lost its track. Securing Ports at shore level won’t be enough to identify and block incoming vessels exposed to cyber threats.
Ports cannot afford vessels docking at the wrong part of the Port or in any way losing control on their way to dock.
